The smell of meat on the grill will help reduce the smell of wildfire smoke in Saskatoon.

Food Truck Wars has returned to downtown after a year-long hiatus after COVID-19 forced the 2020 festival to be canceled.

This year’s festival features 20 food vendors and a craft market, but it won’t feel the same as previous years.

“The safety of our customers was very important to us, so we decided to offer a slimmed-down version this year. Unfortunately there will be no competitions and limited entertainment, ”the organizers said in a Facebook post.

The festival is pet friendly with water stations. The Saskatchewan Health Department also operates a pop-up vaccine clinic that offers first and second doses to eligible individuals.

The festival runs in front of City Hall and the Frances Morrison Central Library every day through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
