Saskatoon Meals Financial institution holds digital drive till the top of Could – Saskatoon
The Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Center has their annual city-wide food event for practically all of May.
The “Click and Pick-nic” campaign promotes online donations that enable the organization to buy groceries in bulk.
Saskatoon residents can also drop non-perishable goods into local grocery stores.
Laurie O’Connor, executive director of Saskatoon Food Bank, said the spring and summer donations are vital as this time of year can be especially challenging for families.
“Summer can be a very difficult time at times because children do not have access to school meals, so sometimes we will see an increase in use,” she said.

O’Connor adds that one in four children in the province lives in poverty. The topic was highlighted last March when nearly 4,000 children benefited from the services of the Saskatoon Tafel.
