Santa Claus took a little break from his busy schedule up north to come down to Saskatchewan on Sunday.
Nov. 27 marked the 31st annual Santa Claus Parade in Saskatoon where close to 50 floats made their way through the streets of Saskatoon.

“It’s wonderful, we’ve actually been the charity of choice for almost a decade now and we have a great connection with midtown plaza and certainly Santa, so it’s really wonderful to be a part of this parade and this event,” said Tammy Forrester , the CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities Saskatchewan, who was the charity float this year.
All of the donations made from the public during the parade goes directly to Ronald McDonald House operations and the families they support.

“There are families that are at the house right through the Christmas season, so we make sure that we treat them to Christmas and make sure they have some special Christmas celebrations at the house,” Forrester said.

The floats ranged from The Grinch to Santa Claus himself.
“Our float is always grinch inspired, so this year it’s the last scene of that play where everyone is happy and loving,” said Forrester.
The City of Regina also hosted their annual parade on Sunday, marking the 36th time they have hosted the event.
The parade began at Wheaton Kia before heading along 2nd Avenue North and Albert Street. After reaching 7th Avenue North, Santa was dropped off at the Northgate Mall.
Along the route, Canada Post had mailboxes for children to send their letters to Santa, giving families one more way to get into the holiday spirit.
