Santa Claus persevering with vacation custom behind plexiglass at Saskatoon Christmas market

SASKATOON – A local Christmas market gives people the chance to get in the Christmas spirit and even visit Santa Claus from afar.

Christmas at Grandma’s is located at 810 Circle Dr. E. and offers Christmas decorations, stands and costumed friends like Elsa, Olaf and Santa on over 10,000 m².

Corrie Swallow, director of Christmas at Grandma’s, said it took a month and about 2,000 hours to put the event together.

With the help of clear plexiglass, photos can be taken with Santa Claus so that people can keep a safe distance.

Individuals bringing non-perishable food to the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Center can have their picture taken for free.

“Just hearing people come through and laugh, see the smiles and experience the fun everyone is having, is a lot of fun,” said Swallow.

He said this was Saskatoon’s largest indoor Christmas event.

It runs until January 3rd.
