Historic sexual assault investigation by Saskatoon police ends in 2 costs – Saskatoon

An arrest was made following an investigation into historical allegations of sexual assault.

The report was submitted to the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) in December 2019.

One of the complaints concerned a woman who was 16 years old at the time of the alleged act, a press release said on Thursday.

Police said the woman and the defendant knew each other through belonging to a “faith-based” organization in Saskatoon.

As a result of the sex crimes investigation, a 35-year-old man was arrested on two charges of sexual exploitation in a position of trust or authority.

SPS said he appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Wednesday.

The police did not provide any further details.
