COVID outbreak declared at Saskatoon Meals Financial institution

The Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Center says the COVID-19 cases among its staff have been declared an outbreak by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA).

In a press release, the center says the outbreak’s SHA statement is primarily used by public health to coordinate a response to the infection and is not necessarily an indicator of risk to the public.

An outbreak is reported in non-household settings when two people test positive.

Saskatoon Food Bank says it is closely monitoring the situation in collaboration with the SHA and will continue to communicate in a timely manner.

It was announced on Monday that there were three positive cases of COVID-19 among the food bank employees, forcing them to close their doors. Back then, the center was hoping it would only be closed for two or three days.

In the latest publication there was not a word about when the table will reopen.
